Multiplying Through Other’s Insights

It’s 6:19 on Monday. The Lord woke me up at 3:30am. I squirmed and rolled around in my bed asking the Lord to show me why He woke me up so early. I went to bed at 10:00pm. 5.5 hours of sleep and then the smelling salt of God’s gentle nudge jumped me out of my dreams and into the day of the living. Rife with reflection, I am considering the words of Praise, a brother by the blood of Jesus, who attended our Bible Trivia event on Saturday night. I reached out to him to tell him how elated I was to see him make an appearance, even if it was for a short time. He shared that he enjoyed it and then he shocked me by sharing an observation he made of a young woman who was on one of his teams:

”Thanks for the invite man! I did enjoy my time. I was impressed by how y’all were able to integrate so many youth! And I liked the people I met. There was one that I hope someone was able to get connected with…….She sounded like it was her first time, non-religious, and just wanting to make friends in her area.”

Through a message of gratitude, an opportunity emerged, an opportunity to tend to a specific need in the room that I would otherwise have been ignorant to. I don’t know if this woman found what she was looking for, but I know this for certain, our team will reach out to this young woman and listen to what we she hoped she would find by coming out to a Bible Trivia night. And then we will do what we can to help her find community.

Show gratitude to others. Express it in word and deed and do it frequently. Watch what you learn. Some of the lessons will last a lifetime! My lesson of the day? You do more together than you do alone, always.
